Sunset Boulevard announces Broadway transfer with Nicole Scherzinger
Nicole Scherzinger is set to bring her widely praised performance as Norma Desmond to Broadway in Jamie Lloyd’s new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Sunset Boulevard.
Based on the book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, and inspired by the classic Billy Wilder film, the revival will open at St. James Theatre.
Preview performances begin Saturday, September 28 ahead of a Sunday, October 20 opening night. A ticket pre-sale will be available here from 2 April.
Nicole Scherzinger will be joined by her London co-stars, including Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, Grace Hodgett-Young in the role of Betty Schaefer, and Olivier Award winner David Thaxton playing Max Von Mayerling.
Alongside the transfer, a cast recording has also been announced.
The Jamie Lloyd Company’s production initially debuted in London in September, quickly capturing global attention.
The creative team for Sunset Boulevard includes Soutra Gilmour (set and costume design), Fabian Aloise (choreography), Alan Williams (music supervisor and musical director), Jack Knowles (lighting design), Adam Fisher (sound design), Nathan Amzi and Joe Ransom (video design and cinematography), Jim Carnahan CSA and Jason Thinger CSA (U.S. casting director), and Stuart Burt CDG (U.K. casting director). 101 Productions, Ltd. serves as the General Manager for Sunset Boulevard.
