The Drifters Girl cast recording released – stream, download and on CD!

The Drifters Girl in the West End has released an original cast recording and the album is out now!.

The Drifters Girl tells the remarkable story of The Drifters and the woman who made them, their manager Faye Treadwell.

The story is told with songs including Save The Last Dance For Me, Under The Boardwalk, Kissin’ In The Back Row Of The Movies, Stand By Me, Come On Over To My Place And Saturday Night At The Movies.

After being recorded at the iconic Abbey Road studios, an original world premiere cast recording was released on 6 May 2022.

The world premiere cast recording features Beverley Knight as Faye Treadwell, manager of The Drifters who, together with her husband George Treadwell, turned the group into a global phenomenon.

Joining her are Tosh Wanogho-Maud (Ben E King), Tarinn Callender (Johnny Moore), Adam J Bernard (George Treadwell) and Matt Henry (Clyde McPhatter).

From the highs of hit records and sell out tours to the lows of legal battles and personal tragedy, The Drifters Girl charts the trailblazing efforts of the world’s first African American, female music manager and how she refused to ever give up on the group she loved. Thirty years, and hundreds of hit songs later, there is no doubt that Faye Treadwell was and always will be, The Drifters Girl.
