The Turbine Theatre cancels all performances until April 18

The Turbine Theatre has cancelled all future performances amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

Performances from Monday, March 16 through until at least April 18 will no longer go ahead.

A statement from Artistic Director Paul Taylor-Mills said: “We take the health and safety of our staff, performers and indeed audiences very seriously at The Turbine Theatre.

“With this in mind we’ve taken the difficult but necessary decision to cancel all performances from Mon 16 Mar until Sat 18 Apr.

“We will monitor the global situation closely and make a decision at a later date if we need to cancel further performances. ”

They added: “Please contact your point of sale to process refunds. We hope to re-programme all productions that were due to take place where possible.

“Please keep an eye on our social media platforms where we will communicate any further information.”

Meanwhile, over in New York, Broadway is currently dark.

All productions were cancelled on March 12 for at least four weeks until April 13.

Charlotte St. Martin, President of the Broadway League, said in a statement: “Once our stages are lit again, we will welcome fans back with open arms so that they can continue to experience the joy, heart, and goodwill that our shows so passionately express every night.”
