The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical album has picked up a Grammy Award!

Composers Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear racked up millions of views online with their original songs inspired by the hit Netflix series.

Since first being shared on TikTok, the pair’s music has become hugely popular with 200 million views of the #bridgertonmusical hashtag to date.

Last September saw The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical concept album drop and tonight saw it pick up the award for Best Musical Theatre Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

Speaking as they picked up the award in Las Vegas the pair said: “A year ago when we asked the internet ‘what if Bridgerton was a musical?’ we could not imagine we’d be holding a Grammy in our hands.

“We want to thank everyone on the internet who has watched us create this album from the ground up. We share this with you.”

They added: “This is really for all our fellow female composers, producers, engineers that are still struggling to gain recognition for what we do.”
