Layton Williams and Shane Richie will lead the cast of the UK tour of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie which opens this weekend.
Layton will reprise his role as titular character Jamie New with EastEnders star Shane Richie returning as Hugo / Loco Chanelle (through to 20 November).
Inspired by a true story, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has proved a hit on the West End ever since opening in 2017.
Now its heading back out on a tour across the UK from September at Salford’s The Lowry.

Also on the tour cast are Shobna Gulati (Ray), Amy Ellen Richardson (Margaret New), George Sampson (Dean), Lara Denning (Miss Hedge), Sharan Phull (Pritti Pasha) and Cameron Johnson (Jamie’s Dad).
Completing the cast are Richard Appiah-Sarpong (Cy), Simeon Beckett (Levi), Kazmin Borrer (Vicki), Alex Hetherington (Swing), Jodie Knight (Fatimah), Ellie Leah (Understudy), John Paul McCue (Laika Virgin), Jessica Meegan (Bex), Talia Palamathanan (Becca), Rhys Taylor (Tray Sophisticay) and Emma Robotham-Hunt (Swing).

Layton Williams said: “I’ve loved my time in the West End but am beyond excited to be playing Jamie on tour! This will be my 6th tour and I can’t wait to come back to some of my favourite venues with this beautiful show. Shane Richie added: “I had such a fantastic time playing Hugo/Loco Chanelle in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie in the West End, so when I was offered the chance to be involved in the touring production I jumped at the opportunity to get back into those heels!
“I believe this show has such an important message for younger and older generations I’m excited to be taking it to a larger audience around the UK.”
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie tells the story of Jamie New, a sixteen-year-old who lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Jamie doesn’t quite fit in. Jamie is terrified about the future. He is going to be a sensation.
