Watch Six The Musical sing ‘Ex Wives’ at Olivier Awards 2019
The cast of Six The Musical performed live on the Olivier Awards 2019 this weekend.
With a powerhouse pop score by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, Six The Musical turns Tudor queens into pop princesses as 500 years of historical heartbreak becomes an hour of 21st century sass.
The current cast of Queens took to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, April 7 for the 2019 Laurence Olivier Awards.
Aimie Atkinson, Alexia McIntosh, Millie O’Connell, Natalie Paris, Maiya Quansah-Breed and Jarneia Richard-Noel gave an epic performance of the musical’s opening number, Ex Wives.

At the awards ceremony, the show was up for a number of awards including Best New Musical and Best Actress In a Supporting Role In A Musical for each of the Queens.
Other nominations were Best Costume Design for Gabriella Slade, Best Theatre Choreographer for Carrie-Anne Ingrouille and Outstanding Achievement In Music for Toby Marlow, Lucy Moss, Tom Curran and Joe Beighton.
Unfortunately for the cast and creative team, the musical didn’t walk away with any awards.
However it’s unlikely to dampen popularity for the original British show.
Thanks to word of mouth, it’s grown since its world premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017 to its current critically acclaimed run in the West End.
The show is currently playing at the Arts Theatre, booking through to January 5, 2020.
Following its success in the UK, Six is set to make its premiere in North America later in 2019.
The musical will play the Chicago Shakespeare Theater beginning in May of 2019, with rumours the show could be eyeing up a run on Broadway.
