West End star Shaka gives standout audition on The Voice UK

Six The Musical star Shaka took to the stage of The Voice UK this weekend.

Shaka performed as Anna of Cleves on SIX’s UK tour and also understudied in the show’s West End production.

Her other stage credits include American Idiot, Hair: The Musical and Lion King.

On The Voice UK on Saturday, Shaka belted out Basement Jaxx and Lisa Kekaula’s Good Luck for coaches Anne-Marie, Olly Murs, Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am.

The audition got Olly spinning his chair seeing Shaka through to the next round.

Olly enthused: “I’m so happy you applied for the show and you’re here now.”

Will.i.am added: “You can sing, you can bring it! You can tell you have everything that it takes.”

Sir Tom said: “You can definitely sing and you deserve to be on here.”

And Anne-Marie added: “You are amazing. I can feel your energy from here. Olly was looking for someone like you.”

Once more hosted by Emma Willis, The Voice 2022 is open to talented soloists and groups.

Up for grabs for the winner is the top prize of a recording contract.

The winner of The Voice 2022 will be crowned later this year.

The Voice is broadcast Saturday evenings on ITV.
