West Side Story cast confirmed for new Curve Leicester production
The cast for Curve Leicester’s upcoming production of West Side Story has been announced.
Adriana Ivelisse will star as Maria with Carly Mercedes-Dyer as Anita.
Heathers’ star Jamie Muscato plays Tony, while Jonathan Hermosa-Lopez plays Bernardo with Ronan Burns as Riff.
Further casting includes Darren Bennett as Lieutenant Schrank, Ryan Anderson as A-Rab, Damian Buhagiar as Chino, Thea Bunting as Graziella, Alex Christian as Baby John, Abigail Climer as Consuelo, Isaac Gryn as Action, Beth Hinton-Leveras Anybodys and Katie Lee as Velma.
Completing the main cast are Mireia Mambo as Rosalia, Michael O’Reilly as Diesel, Dominic Sibanda as Indio, Dale White as Big Deal and Christopher Wright as Officer Krupke and Doc.
Direction comes from Nikolai Foster with choreography by Ellen Kane, set design by Michael Taylor, costume design by Edd Lindley and lighting by Guy Hoare.
Musical supervision comes from Sarah Travis with musical direction is by George Dyer and sound design by Tom Marshall.
West Side Story runs at the Curve Leicester between November 23 and January 11.

“Adriana, Carly, Jamie, Jonathan and Ronan lead an outstanding company of actors, who all recognise how important the musical’s message of love and acceptance is in 2019.”
West Side Story is a musical with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Inspired by William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, it follows the story of rival gangs in 1950s New York City.
The multi-award winning musical features songs including ‘Maria’, ‘I Feel Pretty’ and ‘America’ and will hit the big screen in 2020 with a new film adaption directed by Steven Spielberg.
