A Star Trek Musical is in the Works

Star Trek Substance Rhapsody episode

San Diego Comic-Con just dropped a bombshell for sci-fi and theatre fans alike.

A stage musical based on the iconic Star Trek franchise might soon become a reality, according to Deadline.

Akiva Goldsman, the executive producer of the hit series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, said the concept was being explored during a fan Q&A session.

One of the standout episodes from season two, titled “Substance Rhapsody”, could be heading for the stage.

In this episode, the crew of the USS Enterprise bursts into song after a mishap with an experimental quantum probability field.

Goldsman shared: “We’re in the very early stages of figuring out whether we can bring a version of that to the stage.”

Rebecca Romijn, who plays Una Chin-Riley on the show, exclaimed: “Akiva, I can’t believe you just said that!”
