Amélie The Musical is to transfer to London’s West End from May!
The production first opened at the Watermill Theatre in 2019 before a UK tour and Christmas season at The Other Palace in 2019.
Receiving a Grammy nomination and 3 Olivier Award nominations, Amélie The Musical will now arrive in the West End at the Criterion Theatre from Thursday, 20 May.
Tickets are on sale now for a socially distanced audience following all the latest government guidelines.
Based on the Academy Award and BAFTA nominated 2001 romantic comedy film, Amélie features music by Daniel Messé, lyrics by Messé and Nathan Tysen and a book by Craig Lucas.
It tells the story of a shy waitress living in Paris who discretely orchestrates the lives of the people around her.
Olivier-nominee Audrey Brisson will return to the role of ‘Amélie’.
She’s joined by Sioned Saunders as ‘Gina’, Flora Spencer-Longhurst as ‘Georgette’ / ‘Sylvie’, Rachel Dawson as ‘Amandine’ / ‘Philomene’, Oliver Grant as ‘Lucien’ / ‘Mysterious Man’, Chris Jared as ‘Nino Quincampoix’, Caolan McCarthy as ‘Hippolito’ / ‘Elton John’, Samuel Morgan-Grahame as ‘Joseph’ / ‘Fluffy’, Kate Robson-Stuart as ‘Suzanne’, Jack Quarton as ‘Blind Beggar’, Jez Unwin as Raphael / Bretodeau and Johnson Willis as Collignon / Dufayel. Nuwan Hugh Perera, Miiya Alexandra, Robyn Sinclair and Matthew James Hinchliffe complete the cast.

The musical adaptation premiered in 2015 in Berkeley with Samantha Barks in the title role, before transferring to Broadway in 2017 with Phillipa Soo.
