Audra McDonald’s London Palladium concert to be filmed for release

Audra McDonald’s upcoming concert at the London Palladium is to be captured on video.

The Emmy, Grammy and six-time Tony Award winner will be joined by the forty-piece London Musical Theatre Orchestra for the one-off show on Sunday, 25 September 2022.

Tickets to be in the audience for the concert are on sale now here with details about the film’s release to be announced.

Audra McDonald said of the concert: “London is one of my favourite cities on the planet — I love it so much. There was a time when I was working and performing in London at least once a year. I’ve missed it so very much so the fact I’m getting the chance to return in this way is a joy for me.

“Come on out because I can’t wait to see you all. It’s been a while and I can’t wait to be in a theatre with you again.”

Audra McDonald’s extensive Broadway credits include Tony-winning performances in Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill — the role that also served as the vehicle for her Olivier Award-nominated 2017 debut in London’s West End.

Audra McDonald at the London Palladium is produced by Darren Bell, Dan Looney, Adam Paulden and Jason Haigh-Ellery for Fourth Wall Live, and David Treatman Creative.

The live-capture film is produced by David Treatman Creative and STEAM Motion and Sound, and co-produced by Chris Oakland, Bill Frisbie, Paul Bonin-Rodriguez, and Simon Brook.
