Disney’s Aladdin announces first UK tour starting in October 2023

Disney’s Aladdin has announced its first ever UK tour starting in 2023!

An adaption of the hit 1992 animated movie, the Disney stage musical closed in London in 2019 having opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in London in June 2016.

Telling the story of a poor boy who chances upon a wish-granting genie, the show features both the songs from the original film plus new music written for the stage.

The UK tour will begin in in Edinburgh in October ahead of playing Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre over Christmas. The show then tours to Plymouth, Sunderland and Milton Keynes. Further dates will be announced.

The production features music by Alan Menken, original lyrics by the late Howard Ashman with new lyrics by Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin, who also pens the book.

Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs with set design by Bob Crowley, lighting design by Natasha Katz, costume design Gregg Barnes and sound design by Ken Travis.

Casting is to be announced.

Across the pond in New York, Aladdin continues to play on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
