Groundhog Day musical cast at The Old Vic in 2023 revealed

Casting has been revealed for the return of musical Groundhog Day to London this year.

Based on the iconic movie of the same name, Groundhog Day is currently playing at The Old Vic with tickets on sale now here.

With a book by Danny Rubin, who co-wrote the original film’s screenplay, the musical has songs by Matilda The Musical’s Tim Minchin. It previously ran at the venue in 2016 before a transfer to Broadway.

The new production will see Andy Karl (Pretty Woman) reprise his leading role of Phil Connors.

Phil Connors is a pretty awful guy.

But when the cynical Pittsburgh TV weatherman is sent to cover the eccentric annual Groundhog Day event in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, he finds himself caught in a time loop that sends him on a hilarious path to enlightenment and redemption..
