Hadestown to return to London in 2024

Hadestown is to return to London in 2024!

The musical, which first ran at the National Theatre in 2018, has confirmed it will be heading back to the capital.

Running at the Lyric Theatre from 10 February, casting for the new run is to be announced.

Hadestown is a musical with book, music and lyrics by Anaïs Mitchell, developed with Rachel Chavkin, based on Mitchell’s 2010 concept album.

Welcome to Hadestown, where a song can change your fate.

It intertwines two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — as it invites you on an unforgettable journey to the underworld and back. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, singers and dancers, Hadestown invites you to imagine how the world could be.

The production is directed by Rachel Chavkin with choreography by David Neumann, scenic design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Michael Krass, lighting design by Bradley King, sound design by Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz, musical director and vocal arrangements by Liam Robinson, orchestrations and arrangements by Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose and dramaturg Ken Cerniglia.

The Broadway production opened in April 2019 and won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
