An original cast recording of Here We Are, the new musical by David Ives and the late Stephen Sondheim, is set to be released.

Following a recording session that took place at Power Station at BerkleeNYC, we can look forward to the release by Concord Theatricals Recordings on CD and digital platforms on Friday, May 17. The album will be released on on Vinyl on September 6, 2024.

Currently playing at The Shed’s Griffin Theater in New York until 21, the musical was being worked on by Sondheim before his passing in 2021.

The musical boasts a star-studded cast including Francois Battiste, Tracie Bennett, Bobby Cannavale, Micaela Diamond, Amber Gray, Jin Ha, Rachel Bay Jones, Denis O’Hare, Steven Pasquale, David Hyde Pierce, and Jeremy Shamos. Its understudies are Adante Carter, Lindsay Nicole Chambers, Bradley Dean, Mehry Eslaminia, Adam Harrington, and Bligh Voth.

Here We Are is directed by Joe Mantello, a two-time Tony Award winner. The production is inspired by Luis Buñuel’s films The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie and The Exterminating Angel, featuring a book by David Ives and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

The creative team includes choreographer Sam Pinkleton, set and costume designer David Zinn, lighting designer Natasha Katz, sound designer Tom Gibbons, orchestrator Jonathan Tunick, music supervisor Alexander Gemignani, hair designers Robert Pickens and Katie Gell, and casting by The Telsey Office.
