Kinky Boots revival to run at Storyhouse Chester in May 2024

A new revival of musical Kinky Boots is to run at Storyhouse Chester next May.

The venue will stage a new production of the Broadway and West End hit from 3 – 18 May 2024.

Based on the film of the same name, Kinky Boots features a Tony-Award nominated book by Harvey Fierstein and Tony and Grammy award-winning songs by Cyndi Lauper.

The cast will feature Danny Becker as Charlie, Duane-Lamonte O’Garro as Lola, Seren Sandham-Davies as Nicola and Leah Vassell as Lauren.

They’ll be joined by Gareth Cassidy as George, Phil Corbitt as Mr Price, Rachael Garnett as Milan Fashion Week Stage Manager, Lynwen Haf Roberts as Pat, Kaitlin Howard as Trish, James Ifan as Richard Bailey, Sebastian Lim-Seet as Harry, James Lowrie as Angel, Roddy Lynch as Don, Remi Martin as Angel and Thomas Sankey as Angel .

Charlie Price inherits a suffering shoe factory. Following a meeting with drag queen Lola, Price starts embracing a more flamboyant business model.

Together, they embark on a journey that defies convention, discovering the true power of self-expression and the strength that comes from embracing one’s authentic self.

The production will be directed by Amber Sinclair-Case with choreography by Nicole Bondzi, design by Rachel Ryan, sound by Kate Harve, lighting by Charley Dunford and musical director Sarah De Tute.
