New musical BED to make premiere at Edinburgh Festival Fringe

New musical BED is to run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.

The playful and poignant pocket sprung musical will run at Gilded Balloon Teviot’s Sportsmans space from 2 – 28 August (excluding 14 and 21).

BED is the first sung through musical from writers Tim Anfilogoff and Alan Whittaker who have previously collaborated on several other shows, most recently San Domino.

Instead of a honeymoon, newlyweds Alice and Ben buy a luxury divan. Is Alice ready to settle down and is Ben’s romantic idealization of Alice rooted in reality?

Bed takes us on a journey through over 20 years of married life and all that entails; Joy, anguish, childbirth, housework and the inevitable dirty linen.

Making up the cast of the two hander are Madeleine MacMahon and Drew Elston.

Matthew Gould directs the production, which will preview at Brighton Fringe from 2 – 4 June, with musical director James Cleeve and casting by Jane Frisby.
