Shrek the Musical UK tour cast with Joanne Clifton
Full casting has been revealed for Shrek the Musical‘s new UK tour.
A newly imagined production is currently heading to venues across the UK.

Leading the cast, Antony Lawrence (The Lion King) will play Shrek, Joanne Clifton (The Addams Family) will play Fiona and James Gillan (Everybody’s talking About Jamie) will play Lord Faquaad.
Brandon Lee Sears (Dreamgirls) will play Donkey and Cherece Richards (Once on This Island, Regent’s Park Theatre) will play Dragon.
Completing the cast are Leo Abad, Scotty Armstrong, Imogen Bailey, Jabari Braham, Georgie Buckland, Natasha Cayabyab, Mark Darcy, Jonathan David Dudley, Remi Ferdinand, Sonny Grieveson, Edward Leigh, Bethany Kate, Jessica Lim, Andile Mabhena, Bronte MacMillan, India Thornton, Talia Duff, Gabby Gregorian, Roy Shafford and Jamie Jonathan.
The tour is helmed by director and choreographer Nick Winston (Bonnie and Clyde, Arts Theatre; Beauty and the Beast, UK tour), co-director Sam Holmes (Club Tropicana the Musical), who returns to the swamp having played Lord Farquaad in the previous UK tour.

They are joined on the creative team by set & costume designer Philip Witcomb, lighting designer Ben Cracknel, casting director Jim Arnold and sound designer and Ben Harrison.

With music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, Shrek The Musical first debuted in 2008 with its Broadway production receiving eight Tony Award nominations ahead of a West End transfer in 2011 and first UK tour.
In 2013 a proshot of the original Broadway production was released to watch online, featuring Brian d’Arcy James as Shrek and Sutton Foster as Princess Fiona.
