Olivier Award-winning play Death and the Maiden comes to the Questors Theatre

Olivier Award-winning play Death and the Maiden will come to the Questors Theatre this September.

The piece by Ariel Dorfman will run at the Ealing venue from 23 September – 1 October, opening the autumn season.

Death and the Maiden is a taut thriller, taking place in a country struggling to unite itself again after a brutal totalitarian regime.

Paulina and her husband Gerardo have settled in a remote beach house, attempting to rebuild their lives and forget the trauma of the past. But when, one night, Gerardo invites a stranger into their home, Paulina’s past threatens to unravel her. Convinced that the man sitting in her living room is the same man who ruined her life, she decides to put him on trial. But can she be certain she has the right man?

Death and the Maiden won the 1992 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play and has since been staged worldwide. It is generally regarded as Ariel Dorfman’s seminal work. This captivating production powerfully reveals the lengths to which one woman will go, to find her version of justice.
