Samantha Barks tipped to join Mamma Mia! TV talent show on ITV
Samantha Barks will reportedly appear as a judge on a new Mamma Mia! talent show coming to ITV.
Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream will see contestants compete for a role in hit musical Mamma Mia!
It will see a search for two performers to star as Sophie and Sky in Mamma Mia! in London’s West End.
Frozen and Les Misérables star Samantha Barks is said to have signed up as a judge having previously risen to fame on BBC’s I’d Do Anything in 2008.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Bagging her for the new Mamma Mia! show is seen as a real coup by the creators as Samantha has firmly established herself as a real stage star.
“Rather like Cheryl Cole becoming a judge on X Factor, it seems Samantha’s come full circle from a contestant to a judge on a singing competition.”
It was previously claimed that Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball is lined up to host while comedian Alan Carr has also been tipped to be one of the judges.
Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream will come to ITV1 and ITVX soon, following contestants as they compete to land the starring stage roles.
After weeks of competition, the series will include with live final from a venue in the heart of the West End.
