Shrek The Musical tour first look with Joanne Clifton, Antony Lawrence, Brandon Lee Sears & more

Here’s your first look at the brand new UK tour of Shrek The Musical.

The brand-new production of Shrek The Musical has kicked off at Theatre Royal Plymouth and is set to tour through to April 2024, visiting a total of 31 venues.

The principal cast includes Antony Lawrence as Shrek, Joanne Clifton as Princess Fiona, James Gillan as Lord Farquaad, Brandon Lee Sears as Donkey and Cherece Richards making her debut in a principal role as the Dragon.

The creative team for this re-imagined production features director and choreographer Nick Winston, co-director Sam Holmes, set and costume designer Philip Witcomb, lighting designer Ben Cracknel, casting director Jim Arnold, sound designer Ben Harrison, projection designer Nina Dunn and puppet designer Jimmy Grimes.

Antony Lawrence, known for his roles in The Lion King and Matilda the Musical, plays Shrek, while Joanne Clifton, former Strictly Come Dancing champion, takes on the role of Fiona. Olivier Award-nominee James Gillan plays Lord Farquaad and Brandon Lee Sears portrays Donkey.

Making up the ensemble are Leo Abad, Scotty Armstrong, Imogen Bailey, Jabari Braham, Georgie Buckland, Natasha Cayabyab, Mark D’Arcy, Jonathan David Dudley, Remi Ferdinand, Sonny Grieveson, Edward Leigh, Bethany Kate, Jessica Lim, Andile Mabhena, Bronte MacMillan, India Thornton. Talia Duff, Gabriela Gregorian, Rory Shafford and Jamie Jonathan.

Leave your troubles Far Far Away and come join the adventure as Shrek and Donkey endeavour to complete their quest of defeating the dragon and saving Princess Fiona. Featuring fabulous songs including ‘I’m A Believer’, ‘Big Bright Beautiful World’ and ’I Know It’s Today’. Shrek The Musical has cemented itself as the “musical extravaganza for big kids and little kids alike”.
