The Play What I Wrote BBC release date announced with Tom Hiddleston

Here’s just when you can watch The Play What I Wrote with Tom Hiddleston on BBC this winter.

The Loki actor was guest star at Theatre Royal, Bath earlier this year for the show’s new UK tour.

The performance was filmed and will be broadcast on BBC Four on Sunday, 18 December at 8PM.

You’ll also be able to watch online via BBC iPlayer from the same date.

Thom has written a play, an epic set in the French Revolution called ‘A Tight Squeeze for the Scarlet Pimple’. Dennis on the other hand, wants to continue with their double act.

He believes that if they perform a tribute to Morecambe and Wise, Hamish’s confidence will be restored and the double act will go on. But first Dennis needs to persuade a guest star to appear in the play what Thom wrote…

Artistic Director of The Rep Sean Foley directs the piece which stars Dennis Herdman, Mitesh Soni and Thom Tuck alongside the guest actor at each show.

Hiddleston first appeared in the 20th anniversary revival production at Birmingham Rep in December 2021 for its opening night.

Other guests have included Ralph Fiennes, Ewan McGregor, Joanna Lumley, Daniel Radcliffe, Kylie Minogue, Nigel Havers, Denise Welch, Sir Ian McKellen, Dawn French and Sting.
