The Wizard of Oz cast announced for UK tour
Casting has been announced for the upcoming UK tour of The Wizard of Oz.
Fresh from the West End, the Curve Leicester production of the musical will run at the Liverpool Empire this Christmas before visiting venues across the country in 2024.
The musical features new music from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, as well as iconic songs from the original MGM film.
Meet the cast!
Leading the cast in Liverpool will be JLS and Strictly star Aston Merrygold as the Tin Man with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK The Vivienne as Wicked Witch of the West.
The Vivienne is also scheduled to appear as the Wicked Witch at Oxford, Southampton, Hull, Sheffield, Canterbury, Edinburgh, Southend, Norwich, Llandudno, Braford, Bristol, Nottingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Wolverhampton and Sunderland.
Craig Revel Horwood is scheduled to star as the Wicked Witch in Woking, Belfast, Dublin, Birmingham, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Milton Keynes and Cardiff.
Gary Wilmot is scheduled to perform as The Wizard in Canterbury, Edinburgh, Southend, Norwich, Llandudno and Bradford.
Jason Manford is scheduled to to perform as the Cowardly Lion in Manchester, reprising his role from the West End.
Joining them are Aviva Tulley (Book of Mormon, UK Tour) as Dorothy, Benjamin Yates (ITV’s Emmerdale; Jersey Boys, West End) as The Scarecrow, Nic Greenshields (Love Never Dies West End; Les Misérables West End, International Tour) as The Cowardly Lion, Alex Bourne (Annie, West End, UK Tour, Toronto; Hairspray, UK Tour) as The Wizard, Emily Bull (9 to 5, UK Tour; Matilda UK Tour) as Glinda The Good Witch and Abigail Matthews as Toto (Bleak Expectations, West End; War Horse, West End).
The cast is completed David Burrows, Adam Craig, Cole Dunn, Tyler Ephraim, Olivia Kate Holding, Thomas Kalek, Sadie Levett, Kelsie-Rae Marshall, Martin McCarthy, Rose Ouellette, Fanja Parent, Alexandra Regan, Nathan Routledge and Sydney Spencer.
