A first look at the brand new To Wong Foo The Musical has been revealed!

The new musical made its premiere at Manchester’s Hope Mill Theatre on 21 October, embarking on a limited 9-week run.

The musical stars Peter Caulfield as Vida Boheme, Gregory Haney as Noxeema Jackson, and Pablo Gómez Jones as Chichi Rodríguez.

The cast also includes Carolyn Maitland, Duncan Burt, Alexander Kranz, Arthur Boan, Ayesha Maynard, Emily Ooi, Jermaine Woods, Lee Harris, Natalie Day, Scott Hunter, Susie Fenwick, Samantha Bingley, Theo Maddix, Jamil Abbasi, and Megan Davies-Truin.

Based on the 1995 cult-classic film To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar, the musical adaptation brings to life the story that featured an all-star cast including Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, John Leguizamo, Stockard Channing, Robin Williams and RuPaul.

The film’s screenwriter, Douglas Carter Beane, a multiple Tony Award nominee, has penned the book and directs the musical. The show features music and lyrics by Lewis Flinn, with casting directed by Sarah Leung CDG. The artwork for the musical is created by Feast Creative.

The original film’s legacy and its transformation into a musical make To Wong Foo The Musical a landmark event in the theatre world, promising to deliver an engaging and heartwarming experience.
