Watch Martha Kirby performing Don’t Cry For Me Argentina from Evita revival

Here’s your first taste of the upcoming revival of musical Evita at Leicester’s Curve theatre.

A new production of the Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber musical will run at the venue this winter between 24 November 2023 – 13 January 2024.

Leading the cast will be Martha Kirby (Bat Out of Hell, Rags, Grease) as Eva Perón. You can watch her perform the show’s iconic song Don’t Cry For Me Argentina in a special music video below…

Martha said of taking on the role: “I am extremely excited to be playing Eva Perón at Curve. I’m humbled by the opportunity to discover this iconic role, while working with such an incredible team in the most nurturing environment. It truly is a gift.”

Also on the cast of Evita at the Leicester Curve are Tyrone Huntley as Che, Gary Milner as Perón, Chumisa Dornford-May as Mistress and Dan Partridge as Magaldi.

They’ll be joined by Tia Antoine-Charles, Jacob Atkins, Tanisha-Mae Brown, Harrison Burley, Harry Chandler, Shona Eaton, Jacob Fisher, Olivia Foster Browne, Ashley Gilmour, Jack Harrison-Cooper, Jordan Isaac, Tamsin January, Fallon Mondlane, Samuel Routley, Toby Seddon, Darcey Simmons and Rebecca Wickes.

As Eva Duarte, a child born into poverty, she followed her dreams of becoming an actress. As Eva Perón, she captured the hearts of Argentina’s working classes, broke new ground for women in politics and became the most powerful woman in Latin America.
