Teased as a new, modern spin on the all time classic fairytale, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella is set to premiere in the West End in the autumn.

The brand new production will begin preview performances at London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre on October 8 with tickets on sale now.

Ahead of the premiere, Lloyd Webber took to Twitter to share a first listen to his music for the project.

He introduced the video saying: “I’m going to play a little snippet of something that just might get released in the next couple of weeks or so, it’s called ‘Bad Cinderella’.”

Carrie Hope Fletcher, who has been cast the title role of Cinderella, then shared a video of herself singing along to Lloyd Webber’s video.

Joining Fletcher on the cast will be Victoria Hamilton-Barritt (Death of a Salesman, In the Heights) in the role of the Stepmother with further casting to be confirmed.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella features music from Webber with lyrics by David Zippel and an original story and book by Emerald Fennel.
