Watch Christian Borle revisit Legally Blonde The Musical

Watch Broadway legend Christian Borle revisit his time on Legally Blonde The Musical as he performs Chip on My Shoulder.

Appearing in The The Broadway Cruise, Christian reprised his role of Emmett Forrest for one night only.

As well as performing from the show, Christian also shared how he was originally told he ‘wasn’t handsome enough’ to play Emmett during the musical’s first workshops.

The 50-year-old also revealed some other career lows, from bombing in an audition with Stanley Tucci and failing to land an advert looking for a Christian Borle lookalike.

After graduating from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, Christian made his Broadway debut in “Footloose”, but it was his role in “Legally Blonde: The Musical” that significantly raised his profile.

Christian’s Broadway acclaim was solidified with his Tony Award-winning performance as Black Stache in “Peter and the Starcatcher,” showcasing his exceptional comedic talent. He further demonstrated his acting range in “Falsettos,” earning critical acclaim and a Tony nomination for his portrayal of Marvin, a character navigating life during the AIDS crisis.

Another career highlight was his role in “Something Rotten!” as William Shakespeare, which won him his second Tony Award. This performance highlighted his ability to blend comedy with a rock star’s charisma, captivating audiences and critics alike.
