Stranger Things: The First Shadow, set in Hawkins in 1959, explores a seemingly regular town with everyday concerns. The plot centres around young Jim Hopper, whose car problems are the least of his worries, Bob Newby’s struggle with his sister over his radio show, and Joyce Maldonado’s determination to graduate and leave Hawkins.

The arrival of new student Henry Creel introduces a challenging dynamic, revealing that escaping the past and starting anew can be fraught with difficulties.
