Frozen 2: Epic new trailer is revealed – watch here!

Disney has unveiled an epic brand new trailer for Frozen 2.

The sequel to the smash hit 2013 animated musical will open in cinemas in November.

And today (September 23) saw an official second trailer released together with the first details of the plot.

Disney tease: “Why was Elsa born with magical powers? The answer is calling her and threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she’ll set out on a dangerous but remarkable journey.

“In Frozen, Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In Frozen 2, she must hope they are enough.”

The trailer features Elsa attempting to use her ice powers to cross a raging sea, before teasing the return of the trolls.

Elsa is told: “The past is not what it seems. Go north, across the enchanted lands and into the unknown. But be careful.”

Idina Menzel, who voices Queen Elsa in the Disney Frozen franchise, previously revealed some titbits about the sequel to The Hollywood Reporter.

She described the upcoming second instalment as “a real girl power, badass kind of superhero type of movie”.

“They’re really strong, the two sisters, and it’s exciting. The music is beautiful,” she added.

Broadway star Menzel compared her voice role to that of Elphaba in Wicked, for which she won a Tony Award in 2004.

“Elsa, Elphaba, they’re young women that are afraid of their incredible power and then learn a way to harness that,” Menzel said. “The power and beauty of fierce, incredible women… not apologising for who you are, especially in this time we’re in.”

Alongside Menzel, Kristen Bell reprises her role as Elsa’s sister Anna, Josh Gad returns as Olaf and Jonathan Groff is back as the voice of ice harvester Kristoff.

Frozen 2 is set to see Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown join the cast in new roles.
