Houston’s acclaimed Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) is set to bring a cool blast this winter with a new non-replica production of Disney’s beloved musical, Frozen.

Scheduled to enchant audiences from December 10 through December 29, this fresh staging promises a unique take under the guidance of TUTS Artistic Director Dan Knechtges.

Frozen, which draws inspiration from the 2013 animated film of the same name, weaves a heartwarming tale of sisterhood, adventure, and self-discovery, set against a mesmerizing icy landscape. With music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, alongside a book by Jennifer Lee, the musical swiftly became a Broadway sensation upon its debut in March 2018.

It garnered critical acclaim, securing Tony Award nominations for Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Original Score.

A West End production opened in 2021 and will play its final performance this September.

This new non-replica production forms part of TUTS 2024-2025 season lineup, which also features musicals such as Dear Evan Hansen, Little Shop of Horrors and In the Heights.

“The 24/25 Season is the perfect delight for theatergoers of all ages. Your friends, family, colleagues, everyone is going to love it. Most of all you’re going to love the experience you have seeing all of these shows with Theatre Under The Stars,” said TUTS Artistic Director, Dan Knechtges.
