Gillian Anderson and Richard E Grant star in Netflix animated musical Robin Robin

Gillian Anderson and Richard E Grant will lead the cast of a festive Netflix animated musical.

Robin Robin will be produced by Aardman, the Academy Award winners behind Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Creature Comforts, Chicken Run, and many more .

A teaser from Netflix shares: “When her egg fortuitously rolls into a rubbish dump, Robin is raised by a loving family of mice. As she grows up, her differences become more apparent. Robin sets off on the heist to end all heists to prove to her family that she can be a really good mouse – but ends up discovering who she really is.”

Gillian Anderson will play Cat while Richard E Grant will lend his voice to Robin’s mentor, Magpie.

Adeel Akhtar will star as one of the mice wit Bronte Carmichael playing the title role of Robin, as first reported by the Guardian.

The musical has been co-created and co-directed by Dan Ojari and Mikey Please.

It’s a beautifully crafted stop-frame musical that immediately feels classic whilst being groundbreaking and modern.”

Robin Robin is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2021.
