Holby City’s David Paisley returns to the stage in Adam Zane’s Jock Night at Seven Dials Playhouse

Soap actor David Paisley is to takes centre stage in Adam Zane’s daring new comedy drama Jock Night.

The production from Hive North will run at Seven Dials Playhouse from 9 October – 11 November 2023

David Paisley stars in the cast of Ben while Sam Goodchild and Levi Payne will reprise their roles from the 2019 run of Jock Night as Kam and AJ respectively.

Joining them are George Hughes, making his London stage debut as Simon and Matthew Gent who will be stepping into the role of Russell.

Set against the backdrop of Manchester’s vibrant Gay Village, Jock Night unfolds over the course of a year filled with exhilarating evenings. Paisley’s character, Ben, a devoted admirer of Victoria Wood, navigates his forties while searching for love amidst a culture of chemsex and casual liaisons.

The production casts a spotlight on mental well-being, stripping away the facade of modern gay culture to shine a light on pressing issues within the LGBTQIA+ community. Through skillful comedy, the play addresses thought-provoking subjects with poignancy.

Scripted and directed by the talented Adam Zane, Artistic Director of Hive North, Jock Night draws inspiration from the authentic experiences of Manchester’s LGBTQIA+ community.
