Joe Sugg joins Waitress cast in London’s West End

Joe Sugg is to join the cast of Waitress the Musical in London’s West End.

Vlogger and social media star Sugg will make his West End debut in the show, after recently making the Strictly Come Dancing final in 2018.

He will takeover from Blake Harrison in the role of Ogie. Harrison plays his final performance on September 7 with Sugg making his debut on September 9.

Joe said: “I got to see the show a couple of months back and it’s absolutely fantastic.

“I’m excited to be a part of the cast and to have now landed a role in the West End really has topped off an incredible year for me. I hope I do everyone proud.”

Along Sugg, Tamlyn Henderson will take over the role of Earl and Cindy Belliot will join the ensemble on the Waitress London cast from September 9.

With a score by Sara Bareilles, a book by Jessie Nelson and direction by Paulus, Waitress features a ground-breaking, all-female lead creative team.

It tells the story of Jenna a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage.

Lucie Jones currently appears in the lead role of Jenna with Laura Baldwin as Dawn and Marisha Wallace as Becky.

The current casting includes Peter Hannah as Earl, David Hunter as Dr. Pomatter and Andrew Boyer as diner owner Old Joe.

Completing the current cast are Kelly Agbowu, Piers Bate, Nicole Raquel Dennis, Michael Hamway, Peter Hannah, Stephen Leask, Chris McGuigan, Olivia Moore, Nathaniel Morrison, Sarah O’Connor, Leanne Pinder and Charlotte Riby.
