The Kiln Theatre has revealed the European première of Sanaz Toosi’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, English.

This highly anticipated production, directed by Diyan Zora, marks the conclusion of Indhu Rubasingham’s tenure as Artistic Director at Kiln Theatre.

The play is a collaborative presentation by the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and Kiln Theatre, set to debut at The Other Place, aligning with the inaugural season of Daniel Evans and Tamara Harvey as Co-Artistic Directors.

Diyan Zora is at the helm, directing a cast featuring Nadia Albina as Marjan, Lanna Joffrey as Roya, Sara Hazemi as Goli, and Serena Manteghi as Elham. The production will first grace the stage at Kiln Theatre on 6 June, with preview shows starting from 5 June, and will run until 29 June.

English offers a compelling narrative about four adult Iranian classmates, each battling their own challenges as they learn English as a foreign language. This European première at The Other Place precedes its run at the Kiln Theatre.

The production team includes Anisha Fields as the Designer, George Dennis as the Sound Designer, Maria Tarokh overseeing Movement, and Lotte Hines CDG handling Casting.
