Marisha Wallace’s Waitress cover is sure to put a smile on your face

West End and Broadway star Marisha Wallace has put her spin on a hit song from Waitress.

Wallace, who originated the role of Becky in the West End production of Waitress, showcased a number from the musical at her online concert this week.

She put a very current twist on ‘When He Sees Me’ which is performed in the musical by the character Dawn.

“Dawn is having a hard time dating during this pandemic. How many of y’all can relate?” Wallace posted alongside a video of her isolation performance, which you can watch below.

It’s not the only Waitress video that Wallace has shared with her fans.

The star of Aladdin and Something Rotten! on Broadway and Dreamgirls in the West End also posted a video of her singing Waitress’ showstopping eleven o’clock number She Used To Be Mine.

Wallace recently went out on a headline UK tour and will be back in the West End this autumn with Hairspray.

She’ll star as Motormouth Maybelle in the new revival which will play at the London Coliseum from September.
