Acclaimed actors Mark Strong and Lesley Manville in the lead roles of Oedipus and Jocasta, respectively.

This production is not Icke’s first foray into reinterpreting Greek tragedies. His previous work includes the critically acclaimed Oresteia and the innovative productions of 1984 and The Doctor. His version of Oedipus was first presented in Dutch at Internationaal Theater Amsterdam and later at the Edinburgh International Festival, where it received high praise.

Set on the backdrop of an election night, with polls indicating a landslide victory, ‘Oedipus’ promises to be an explosive human thriller, transforming Sophocles’ epic tragedy into a narrative deeply resonant with contemporary themes. Both Strong and Manville are multi-award-winning actors, known for their powerful performances on both stage and screen.
