Moulin Rouge Musical to open in London’s West End in 2021 – pre-sale sign up

Moulin Rouge The Musical will open in London’s West End in 2021.

The hit stage adaption of the Oscar-winning film made its debut on Broadway last summer.

Now it’s heading for London, opening at the Piccadilly Theatre in March 2021.

Moulin Rouge The Musical is based on the 2001 film Moulin Rouge! directed by Baz Luhrmann and written by Luhrmann and Craig Pearce.

The jukebox musical features a book by John Logan with a pop rock score made up of songs from artists ranging from Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Sia, Katy Perry and Beyonce to Elton John , Lorde, The White Stripes and The Police.

It tells the story of Christian who falls in love with actress and courtesan Satine, star of Paris cabaret venue Moulin Rouge.

The Broadway production is directed by Alex Timbers with a book by John Logan, choreography by Sonya Tayeh, and music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Justin Levine.

The original Broadway cast features Karen Olivo as Satine, Aaron Tveit as Christian, Danny Burstein as Harold Zidler, Sahr Ngaujah as Toulouse-Lautrec, Tam Mutu as The Duke of Monroth, Ricky Rojas as Santiago and Robyn Hurder as Nini.
