Cinderella 2021 musical release date and castCinderella is the new movie musical starring Camila Cabello coming set for release in 2021.
Pitch Perfect writer Kay Cannon will pen the screenplay and direct the new film which is a new retelling of the classic fairytale.
It’s teased as a “modern unique twist” of the story with a “fresh, empowering perspective”, featuring both covers and original songs penned especially for the film.
Cinderella 2021 movie release date
Originally due out in theatres in February 2021, the film’s release date is now confirmed for 3 September worldwide on Amazon Prime Video here.

Cinderella musical film cast
This new Cinderella musical features a stacked cast with Camila Cabello in the title role.
Billy Porter will star as fairy godparent Fab G with Idina Menzel as Cinderella’s Stepmother and Maddie Baillio and Charlotte Spencer as stepsisters Anastasia and Drizella respectively.
Nicholas Galitzine is to play Prince Robert while Pierce Brosnan and Minnie Driver will play the King and Queen.
Comedians James Acaster, James Corden and Romesh Ranganathan will appear as footmen/mice with Missy Elliot as the Town Crier.
More cast are Beverley Knight, Tallulah Greive as Princess Gwen, Fra Fee as Hench, Luke Latchman as Griff and Mary Higgins as Princess Laura.
A teaser for the movie shares: “Cinderella is an ambitious young woman whose dreams are bigger than the world will allow. With the help of her Fab G she musters the courage to make her dreams come true.”
Previous reports revealed that the film would be a “feminist retelling” of the classic tale, featuring songs including Beyonce’s Single Ladies.
The new Cinderella movie joins In The Heights, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and West Side Story on the list of movie musicals set for release in 2021.
