While England may be back in lockdown with theatres once again shutdown, there are plenty of shows and concerts available online…

West End stars will join forces with some of 2020’s most talented musical theatre graduates for a special charity concert streaming nightly between Friday November 6 and Monday November 9 at 7:30PM. Hosted by Michael Auger and Charlotte Jaconelli, the concert will be raising funds for Acting For Others, Make A Wish Foundation, Lebanon Red Cross & Stop Hate UK! A Halloween themed musical concert is currently streaming until November 7. The cast is made up of Lizzie Bea, Matt Croke, Louise Dearman, Rob Fowler, Lois Gay, Evelyn Hoskins, Aoife Kenny, Sejal Keshwala, Jodie Steele, Tosh Wanogho-Maud and Layton Williams. Two – 5-7 November

Guildford Fringe Theatre Company’s new professional production of Jim Cartwright’s gritty play Two will stream online nightly at at 8PM Thursday 5 – Saturday 7 November. Laurie Duncan and Claire Marlein star in Two, which follows the simple concept of two actors playing fourteen different characters between them. Get tickets here.


Emilia – November 10 to 24

A filmed version of Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s Emilia is to be streamed online; An archive recording of the West End production will be released with pay-what-you-can pricing with money from the stream split between the show’s team. The play will be available to stream between November 10 and 24 with caption and audio-described streams both available. You can book tickets online here.

The Theatre Channel is a new musical theatre-based web series. Each 30 minute episode will showcase well-known musical theatre classics; performed by some of the industry’s most beloved performers on location at The Theatre Café. A virtual production of [title of show], filmed at the London Coliseum, will star Marc Elliot, Tyrone Huntley, Jenna Russell and Lucie Jones make up the cast together with musical director Ben Ferguson. Performances take place 12, 13 and 14 November with tickets available online here. Josh Seymour directs the piece which is produced by Lambert Jackson Productions.


Ordinary Days – 16-22 November

A virtual production of Adam Gwon’s Ordinary Days musical will be produced by Top Note Arts. The musical will be available to stream online via with tickets costing £6.50. The cast will feature Oliver Jacobson as Warren, Aimée Horwich as Deb, Matt Concannon as Jason and Laura Coard as Claire.


The Last Five Years – 26-29 November

Molly Lynch and Oli Higginson star in this filmed version of the recent production at Southwark Playhouse. A multi-camera recorded version will be available online between November 26 and November 29. Tickets to watch the stream are available online here via Stream.Theatre.

What A Carve Up! – to November 29

An online production of What A Carve Up!, written by Henry Filloux-Bennett and based on Jonathan Coe’s satirical novel of the same name, is currently streaming online via Directed by Tamara Harvey, the cast includes Alfred Enoch, Fiona Button, Sharon D. Clarke, Rebecca Front, Stephen Fry, Sir Derek Jacobi, Griff Rhys Jones and Tamzin Outhwaite.


Rent – 27 November to 20 December

Rent revival Hope Mill Theatre

Luke Sheppard directs a revival of Rent at Manchester’s Hope Mill Theatre, which will continue its planned online stream. The cast features Jocasta Almgill as Joanne, Blake Patrick Anderson as Mark, Tom Francis as Roger, Ahmed Hamad as Benny, Dom Hartley-Harris as Collins, Millie O’Connell as Maureen, Maiya Quansah-Breed as Mimi and Alex Thomas-Smith as Angel. Apollo 13: The Dark Side of the Moon – to December 31

A new play based on the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission is streaming online until December 31. The piece, written by Torben Betts, explores “the outer limits of faith, hope and the power of the human spirit.” The cast features Tom Chambers, Christopher Harper, Michael Salami with Jenna Augen, Poppy Roe, Philip Franks and Willie Jonah Tickets are available online here.
