Watch stars of the West End come together for powerful #StandByMeChallenge

West End stars have got together for a powerful social media challenge.

Nicole Raquel Dennis (Dear Evan Hansen, Waitress, Dreamgirls) and Billy Luke Nevers (& Juliet, Jesus Christ Superstar) organised the Stand By Me challenge in order to elevate Black voices amid worldwide protests against the treatment of Black people.

The challenge has seen countless stars from across the world upload a video of themselves performing Stand By Me by Ben E King alongside the words of American civil rights activist Rosa Parks.

As the #standbymechallenge trended, Dennis tweeted: “Our timelines are filled with beautiful black talent from the west end, broadway, Germany and the Netherlands. Watch as many videos as you can ✊? #standbymechallenge”
