Rebecca Lucy Taylor, aka Self Esteem, and Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters fame have announced an exciting new EP titled Cabaret: The Maida Vale Session.

This special collection is set to bring the magic of musical Cabaret to listeners, featuring live versions of iconic tracks such as Willkommen, Don’t Tell Mama, I Don’t Care Much, and the show-stopping “Cabaret.

The performances were recorded during the BBC Radio 2 special Jo Whiley presents Cabaret at the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios, which aired on 6 December.

The EP is set for release on Friday, 8 March and is available to pre-order here.

Following their critically acclaimed stints in Cabaret, Taylor and Shears will take their final bows on 9 March.

Looking ahead, the production will welcome new headliners such as Cara Delevingne, Luke Treadaway and Michael Ahomka-Lindsay.

Featuring music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb with a book by Joe Masteroff, Cabaret has proved a hit ever since its premieres on Broadway and in London’s West End in the 1960s.

Set in the 1930s Berlin, the musical tells the story of the seedy Kit Kat Klub and the relationship between American writer Cliff Bradshaw and English cabaret performer Sally Bowles.
